Mum had tried respite at another home locally and before choosing a long term home we encouraged her to try The Oaks. She initially booked a month’s respite but after 2 weeks decided to make it her permanent home. Mum found the staff to be very caring and the atmosphere more calm. She definitely prefers the food and is finally gaining weight. She absolutely loves Ted (the resident dog). Her room is lovely and when visiting all the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
I am incredibly grateful for the care my dad received during his two-week respite stay at Acer Lodge care home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and well taken care of. The care home itself was immaculate, providing a warm and welcoming environment that made him feel right at home. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The staff were attentive, always offering us drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear that they truly care about their residents, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking excellent care in a friendly, caring environment.
All the team at Acer Lodge have been outstanding and extremely supportive. I had a need to move dad from a hospital in North Wales to Acer Lodge on an urgent basis which was a daunting thought. I came across Acer Lodge almost by accident which now, looking back, has come as a blessing in disguise. The team at Acer Lodge managed the process professionally, calmly and efficiently and dealt with the hospital directly.
Acer Lodge is a modern purpose built home and is bright, spacious and located on a canal side which my dad loves to look out upon. I was extremely nervous that dad wouldn’t settle there but I needn’t have worried, he loves that place. Dad has already taken up drawing again which he hasn’t done for some time and has even joined in with singing and dancing when entertainers have visited, something that I didn’t think my dad would do.
All in all Acer Lodge has proven to be an excellent choice.
The Oaks staff are all very caring and understanding of my mother’s condition. My mother has Alzheimer’s and is deteriorating very quickly.
The team treat her kindly and with patience and respect.
As a family we are all very grateful for such high level of care and we would highly recommend The Oaks to other families.
🌟 Introducing Our New Chapter: Bracebridge Care Group is Now EQ Care Group! 🌟
A fresh look, a new name, but the same unwavering dedication to what matters most.
Our mission has always been to put people at the centre of everything we do. At EQ Care, everything we do has real gravitas and meaning, it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are.
Our new name reflects this foundation. EQ stands for Emotional Quotient — the measure of emotional intelligence, and the heart of how we care. It’s about empathy, connection, and understanding.
This rebrand represents an exciting new chapter, but our core values remain unchanged:
• Everyone cares from the heart.
• Everything is done with intention.
• Every action is rooted in emotional intelligence.
🎥 Tune in to hear from our CEO, Samantha Crawley, as she shares more on this new transformation.

🌷 Today, we spread a little hope and support for Parkinson’s Awareness Month by sharing tulips around our homes! 🌷
Tulips are a beautiful symbol of strength and resilience for those living with Parkinson’s disease, and we wanted to show our commitment to raising awareness and offering support.
These small gestures remind us of the importance of standing together with the Parkinson’s community. 💚
By sharing these flowers around the home, we show that we are here for those affected by Parkinson’s, offering our love and care every step of the way.
Let’s continue to spread awareness and work toward a future with a cure.

Finding the right home for a loved one is never easy, but Charlotte’s words say it all... 💙
“We walked into The Oaks and instantly felt at home. We wanted somewhere that would be a home-from-home environment and we would know he would be safe, cared for, and overall loved and appreciated, and treated as an individual rather than just a client.”
Thank you, Charlotte, for sharing your experience. Creating a warm, reassuring, and supportive space is at the heart of what we do. 💛
