Mum had tried respite at another home locally and before choosing a long term home we encouraged her to try The Oaks. She initially booked a month’s respite but after 2 weeks decided to make it her permanent home. Mum found the staff to be very caring and the atmosphere more calm. She definitely prefers the food and is finally gaining weight. She absolutely loves Ted (the resident dog). Her room is lovely and when visiting all the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
I am incredibly grateful for the care my dad received during his two-week respite stay at Acer Lodge care home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and well taken care of. The care home itself was immaculate, providing a warm and welcoming environment that made him feel right at home. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The staff were attentive, always offering us drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear that they truly care about their residents, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking excellent care in a friendly, caring environment.
All the team at Acer Lodge have been outstanding and extremely supportive. I had a need to move dad from a hospital in North Wales to Acer Lodge on an urgent basis which was a daunting thought. I came across Acer Lodge almost by accident which now, looking back, has come as a blessing in disguise. The team at Acer Lodge managed the process professionally, calmly and efficiently and dealt with the hospital directly.
Acer Lodge is a modern purpose built home and is bright, spacious and located on a canal side which my dad loves to look out upon. I was extremely nervous that dad wouldn’t settle there but I needn’t have worried, he loves that place. Dad has already taken up drawing again which he hasn’t done for some time and has even joined in with singing and dancing when entertainers have visited, something that I didn’t think my dad would do.
All in all Acer Lodge has proven to be an excellent choice.
The Oaks staff are all very caring and understanding of my mother’s condition. My mother has Alzheimer’s and is deteriorating very quickly.
The team treat her kindly and with patience and respect.
As a family we are all very grateful for such high level of care and we would highly recommend The Oaks to other families.

š¬š§Ā VE Day at Our Homes ā 80 Years OnĀ š¬š§
Today marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day, and our homes came together to celebrate with a wonderful mix of remembrance and joy.
Our people enjoyed a 1940s-themed street party, complete with Union Jack cakes, flags, and music bringing the spirit of the era to life. Looking through old photographs sparked special memories, as we honoured the resilience and stories of a remarkable generation.
What a wonderful day it has been!
